Today, my husband has gone to meet up with a couple of vaccinated colleagues from work for lunch. I assume they’re preparing to return to the office or some level of hybrid attendance. He informed me just this morning of plans in the works for anyone who wants to get back into the office or continue to work from home. With all of these new things happening and new experiences arising surrounding how our family is going to reintegrate into regular in-person society, I can’t help but to be excited for us all to find a better normal.
My son has gone back into the classroom for a hybrid schedule. His school has opted to allow in-person learning four days a week with virtual learning for everyone on Wednesdays. Our district chose the hybrid model that allows students from a specific group to attend in-person classes for two consecutive days while continuing virtual learning on the remaining days of the school week. The best part about this model is that not everyone has chosen to send their children back to school. This means some schools have micro-classes with 2-4 children instead of the typical 10-15 students per classroom.
For students who don’t have regular interaction with kids their age at home it can be refreshing to be allowed to see classmates they haven’t had the chance to meet in person during quarantine. I found myself to be most concerned about my child’s social development as a result of limited interaction with children his age. Thankfully the past two weeks have been a major success and I’m optimistic about the rest of this school year as well as next year.
Moving forward, I’m excited to see how I’ll be able to free my time at home and move forward with my photography business as well as other endeavors. My new focus will be mastering my craft, social media and expanding my personal life skills. The next leg of the journey begins now!
I’d love to hear about how you have been reintegrating to in-person life. Share your story in the comment section.
